Facing significant logistical challenges and high costs for spare parts, the Royal Netherlands Navy has equipped its fleet with UltiMaker 3D printers. This allows them to produce necessary components on-demand directly on the ships, which cuts down on wait times, reduces the need for large inventories, and ensures operational readiness anywhere in the world.
To showcase the strength of advanced 3D printing, UltiMaker collaborated with the Royal Netherlands Navy and Covestro to design and produce a carbon fiber composite link.
